Tweaking the Week by Dressing Up

The wet season only started to gain momentum and late June felt considerably dry. And so was the office. Few, scattered spurts of excitement (probably huddling on a stale joke or fresh gossips) would make the employees alive and that’s it. Lethargic. Torpid. Dull. Boring. No life, no feelings.

A little bit of shakeup was needed! Thus, like a mushroom in the busy city, an idea popped in the midst of clickety-clacks of keyboards – Theme day. The theme day would last for five days, which likely needed a renaming to Theme Week, but anyway, the huge transformation poured NMS the life and feelings after a drought.

Day 1 | Abracadabra!

Beginnings are humble but it’s a No this time, and the way to start it should be grand. Fairy tales and fantasies with all the glitters, colors and oddities are by all means define what grand is. Enchanted Day made the office a hall for delegates from the magical and mind-blowing movies we love.

Everyone trots out with their enchanting costumes inspired from the mix of anime, blockbuster movies and classic fairytales.

Day 2 | Almost a soiree

Imagine a night scene dimly lit by sparkling bulb with the bottles of wine and subtle music. How perfect to show off the fanciest mask you could wear! It’s too much to dream of that party, though because everybody had to work on Masquerade Day. However, one wouldn’t worry about the stress marked on the faces, and it’s nice to hide from those masks, wasn’t it?

Whooping it up with all these masks. A glass of wine please!

Day 3 | Get the sweat on

Let’s get physical with Sports Day. There seem to be a mini-Olympic game happening inside NMS because athletes were in the house! The courses to finish were obviously the quotas and tasks, but no one competed with another as it’s all in the name of fun. After all, that is sports all about.

The game is up for everyone. Wearing sporty attire brings an energetic aura in the office.

Day 4 | Working with nighties

When in the previous days one must take time to choose what was best to wear and where to find it, this was different. It had become as easy as opening the drawers and slipping on night clothes. Night robes, loose pants, or boxer shorts would be ideal, and all felt comfortable working on their desks. But it could have been better if someone roamed around with their lean undergarments! Pyjama Day is light and cheerful anyway and though ironic as it appeared, no one fell asleep. Or did someone?

The pyjamas and other night clothes made everyone comfortable, except for the outsiders.

Day 5 | Cuddly stuffed pets

To end something in a plain manner is contemporary and Stuffed Pet Day was an example fit for simplicity. It could’ve been a sequel for the previous theme because being with these cuddly stuffed pets brought the childhood back and, most importantly, suggested that Home is near. Well, that is what NMS is, everybody’s second home.

They went back to being kids who need to cuddle their favorite cutie stuffed pets.

But hey, there’s more! Since these are five types of events and contests of costumes, there should be stars. So, here are the people who steal the scene.
